NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation and is not a consumer reporting agency. Neither it nor its advertising partners offer a service intended for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant screening, or another Fair Credit Reporting Act purpose.
1. What This Website Is
Hertford County Criminal History is an independent reference resource. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve records for a visitor, perform official background checks, or submit government forms.
Its role is to direct readers to the Hertford County Sheriff's Office, the Clerk of Superior Court, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. It may also connect a visitor to an outside search service.
2. Rules for Using This Site
Use must remain lawful and must not interfere with the website or other people.
- Do not violate federal, North Carolina, or local law
- Do not stalk, threaten, intimidate, or harass anyone
- Do not use content for a credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
- Do not attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
- Do not deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools
- Do not disrupt service or prevent another visitor's access
3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination
Information from this website or a linked tool may not be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. North Carolina gives special warnings for information from the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. The registry exists for public safety awareness. Its information is not permission for vigilantism, retaliation, blacklisting, or unlawful discrimination, and misuse can lead to criminal prosecution.
4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
This website does not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks and is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. Visitors must not use content from this website or a linked search tool for the following purposes:
- Choosing whether to hire, retain, or dismiss a worker
- Evaluating a tenant or housing application
- Setting credit terms or insurance eligibility
- Determining eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
- Making any other decision regulated by the FCRA
A legally authorized check for a regulated purpose must come from the proper official channel or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.
5. No Legal Advice
Content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Hertford County charge, judgment, warrant, registration duty, or expunction provision applies to a specific person. A licensed North Carolina attorney can address an individual matter.
6. No Warranties
The website and its content are supplied "as is." No promise is made that:
- Information will always be complete, correct, or current
- Access will remain continuous and uninterrupted
- Pages will be free from bugs, errors, or security weaknesses
- An outside search provider's results will be complete or accurate
Charges, dispositions, custody, registry status, sealing, and expunction can change. Nothing here is an official statement from the Hertford County Sheriff's Office, a North Carolina court, or the SBI.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
Links may lead to government sites, courts, legal resources, or outside search providers. Those services control their own content, fees, availability, terms, and data practices. Hertford County Criminal History is not responsible for them. Review the destination's terms before use.
8. Intellectual Property
Text, graphics, logos, and code on this website belong to Hertford County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or used to create another work without prior written permission.
