These conditions govern access to and use of Hertford County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or submitting a search means the visitor agrees to these terms. Its role is to direct readers to the Hertford County Sheriff's Office, the Clerk of Superior Court, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. It may also connect a visitor to an outside search service.

This website does not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks and is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. Visitors must not use content from this website or a linked search tool for the following purposes:

  • Choosing whether to hire, retain, or dismiss a worker
  • Evaluating a tenant or housing application
  • Setting credit terms or insurance eligibility
  • Determining eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Making any other decision regulated by the FCRA

A legally authorized check for a regulated purpose must come from the proper official channel or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.
